Home for Christmas, and baking cookies with Mom!

Port Colborne, ON – In November, I was invited to visit OM's Ship the Logos Hope when it was in Barbados. They asked if I could join some meetings to help them develop and align their training for people who join for 1-2 years with our overall OM mission to see vibrant communities of Jesus followers among the least reached. Their training is called 'Ginosko', which is a Greek word referring to a deep knowing (not just information). The meetings were fruitful, and I enjoyed the opportunity to use my skills this way.

The ship visit was short, but the work continued on. I've been collaborating with people on board to write and clarify outcomes for the training. This is nearly completed, and then we need to develop all of the training materials for the people who will facilitate the training and those who will take it. This will likely take a good bit of time this year, and possibly run into next year. We want to ensure that what we create is effective, easy-to-use, and engaging. Thank you for praying for us!

As I've mentioned before, most of the time I'm not travelling. I'm sitting (or walking) at my desk working from home. Here are a few of the things I've been working on over the past couple of months:

  • Developing training on psychological safety

  • Creating a resource area to help senior leaders align their teams with the mission

  • Analyzing data about how we are organized

  • Preparing to transition to a new user interface for EquipMe Online

  • Organizing another webinar on how people are using artificial intelligence in OM

  • Starting to work with a group looking at how we can be more sustainable in OM

Praise & Prayer
  • Pray: For the 'Ginosko' curriculum development on the ship

  • Pray: For our transition to a new interface for EquipMe Online - I expect people to have a lot of questions!

  • Pray: For upcoming travels and work projects

  • Pray: For my mental health, especially in the winter season
