Auction in Support of Community Cause

Gospel Fellowship Church, Steinbach MB

On May 26, Gospel Fellowship Church hosted a fundraiser in support of an organization in our community. The INN is a new charity working towards developing a housing shelter here in Steinbach, providing low barrier shelter for unhoused individuals in our area. GFC's Community Ambassador team is always looking for ways to get involved in our community. They organized a soup and buns auction fundraiser to raise money for the cause.

Congregation members and local businesses generously donated a variety of items for the auction including a handmade picnic table, a cabin trip, golfing passes, coffee, photography, jewelry, cleaning voucher, artwork, a Belizean hammock, and so much more! Church members made tasty soups, a local bakery donated the buns, and the youth helped out in the kitchen. Everyone came together and created an amazing afternoon of fun and fellowship!

A major highlight of the event was the shaving of John Schmidt's beard! We set a goal of $750 to which people could contribute to witness him cut his long-grown and well-loved beard.

All together a total of $7,223.80 was raised for the INN. This fundraiser was a great time of fellowship for the church, while also raising money and support for a cause we strongly believe in.
